Tall, packed, chloroplast-rich cells near the top are palisade; loosely packed cells with air spaces are spongy mesophyll.
O Level Physics · sample question
A 2.0 Ω resistor is connected in series with a parallel pair of resistors, 6.0 Ω and 3.0 Ω, across a 12 V supply. What is the current in the 6.0 Ω resistor?
Parallel pair: 1/R = 1/6.0 + 1/3.0 = 1/2.0, so R = 2.0 Ω. Total = 4.0 Ω and supply current = 12 ÷ 4.0 = 3.0 A. The p.d. across the pair = 3.0 × 2.0 = 6.0 V, so the current in 6.0 Ω = 6.0 ÷ 6.0 = 1.0 A (and 2.0 A in the 3.0 Ω).

Propane, CH3CH2CH3, reacts with chlorine in ultraviolet light. How many different monosubstituted products, C3H7Cl, can form?
The Cl can replace an H on an end carbon (CH3CH2CH2Cl) or on the middle carbon (CH3CHClCH3). Both end carbons give the same product.
GCSE Maths · sample question
Two tangents from a point P touch a circle with centre O at A and B. Angle APB = 50°. What is angle AOB?
Angles OAP and OBP are both 90° (tangent and radius). The angles of quadrilateral OAPB add to 360°, so angle AOB = 360° − 90° − 90° − 50° = 130°.
