How to best prepare for SAT

SAT which stands for Scholastic Aptitude Test is an American standardized college admission test which is primarily required for admission in US colleges. However, overtime, many non-American universities have also adopted SAT as their standard admission requirement including LUMS in Pakistan.

Even though LUMS does offer an alternate to SAT which is called LUMS Common Admission Test (LCAT) and so a student has a choice to choose between SAT or LCAT but students who have taken SAT will be exempt from taking LCAT.

There are 2 test variants namely SAT I and SAT II (which is also known as SAT Subject Test).

SAT I consists of four sections:

  1. Reading
  2. Writing and Language
  3. Math (which consists of two subsections, No Calculator and Calculator)
  4. Essay (Optional)

Even though SAT Essay is optional but a lot of colleges / universities ask for Essay so it is always recommended to register for Essay while registering for the SAT exam.
